Welcome to the lower Vosges, the paradise for nature’s lovers with hiking trails, equestrian facilities, vineyards and golfs nearby.
In the tiny village of Murbach famous for its 8th century abbey, we founded a luxurious guesthouse with four rooms and suites, decorated in the pure Alsatian style, all with private bathrooms and amenities. The property, built in the 1700’s, was a typical shepherd's courtyard, before being beautifully restored by Sylvie and Robert, its actual owners.

Sylvie is leading the classes as a real chef. She learned to cook from her mother in nearby Lorraine, and her classes continue the traditional family love for the art. Depending on the seasons and the fresh products from the market or the garden, you will share Sylvie's secrets to success with Alsatian choucroute, Coq au Reisling, Pot-au-Feu, Baeckaoffa, Truite au Riesling, Fleischschnaka (Herb pancakes rolled with a stuffing of leftover meat and cheese, fried and served on a green salad), spaetzele (home-made noddles), etc. For the desserts, Sylvie is really creative and propose her own-traditional receipes : rhubarbe tart, fruits clafoutis, crème brûlée... without forgetting the bredeles, gingerbreads and kugelhofs. Hands-on classes are limited to 8 participants and scheduled from from Monday through Friday (except Wednesday), from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

Besides your cooking classes, you will visit local producers as well as the best spots on the Route des Vins : Riquewihr, Kaysersberg and Colmar, capitale of the Alsatian wines. For non-cooking participants, we propose activities such as golfing, cycling, horse-riding, fishing, walking or snowshoeing if the season allows.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

> DAY 1 (Sunday afternoon) : private transfer from Bale-Mulhouse airport to Murbach. Welcome drink and dinner. Night at the property.

> DAY 2 (Monday) : Restful morning, with a one-hour sightseeing of Murbach
and its abbey. Lunch in a nearby restaurant. Afternoon cooking class, followed by dinner.

> DAY 3 (Tuesday) : Morning walk in the Vosges mountains to visit a local producer, followed by a typical lunch in a farm. Afternoon cooking class.
Dinner at the property.

> DAY 4 (Wednesday) : Full-day excursion of the Route des Vins with visits of local villages such as Kaysersberg, Ribeauvillé and Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Lunch and dinner in traditional restaurants. Return to Murbach at night.

> DAY 5 (Thursday) : Morning visit to the city of Colmar followed by a lunch downtown Colmar. Afternoon cooking class, followed by dinner

> DAY 6 (Friday) : Morning and lunch free.
Afternoon cooking class, followed by a farewell food & wine harmony dinner

> DAY 7 (Saturday) : after the breakfast, private transfer to Bale-Mulhouse airport.
