Paris, city of arts and history, symbol of glamour and elegance, is also the place to stay for experiencing and enjoying the French food and wine. France is the most popular country in the world for its exquisite desserts, fine patisseries, and exquisite chocolates. Paris is the capital of the macarons, and it’s even more than an institution, like the voice of passion and love. Celebrity chefs keep on designing new shapes, new colors, new flavors, sweet or savory, for making a tea break or aperitif totally unique.

Paris Delights is one-of-a-kind all-inclusive program that includes : 4 hands-on baking classes, cultural and gourmet tours in Paris followed by lunch breaks, accommodation at luxury guesthouses or apartment or charming boutique-hotels, welcome and farewell food and wine pairing dinners, airport transfers, and ground transportation.

BAKING CLASSES

Tasting breads, brioches, croissants, pastries and chocolates is one thing, but learning the secrets of our professional chef is the major point to consider. Under the direction of our 39-year experienced chef Patrick Morin, you will learn about the ingredients and methods for making delicious French pastries and breads from scratch such as: Eclairs au chocolat, Paris Brest, Chouquettes, Choux vanilla, Fresh fruits tarts including the exquisite tarte tatin, Chocolate ganache tartelettes, Millefeuille, Financiers, Madeleines and Cannelés, Macarons of all kind, Baguettes, Country loaf, Mediterranean fougasse, Croissants, Pain aux raisins, Chocolate or almond croissant, and more.

Classes are intimate, limited to 6 participants. It’s operated at le Grenier à Pain professional laboratory, and authentic boulangerie-patisserie in Sevres. Sevres is a small town on the way to Versailles, which is linked to Paris by metro or train. Line 9 goes directly to Trocadero, Champs-Elysées, Opera, Grands Boulevards, le Marais and Nation. A direct train from Montparnasse station conveniently goes to Sevres within 12 minutes.

Classes are scheduled in the afternoon, starting at 2:30pm or 3:00pm for 2 or 3 hours. It leaves the morning for relaxing, shopping or visiting Paris. Corinne will be your tour guide in Paris. She also coordinates pastry and bread classes in English.

GOURMET AND CULTURAL TOURS

Paris, number-one touristic destination in the world, will always be Paris ! Capital of beauty, glamour, and romance. City of gourmet trends counting Michelin-star restaurants by dozen, numerous small bistros serving traditional specialities celebrate the regional cuisines.

Aside to afternoon classes, you will visit Paris by walking through its picturesque districts, its narrow cobble-stone streets bordered by shops, restaurants and cafés set in historic buildings. Corinne will personally guide three different tours, starting at 9:30am for 2h30. It highlights the districts of Les Halles, Bastille, Le Marais, and Saint Germain des Prés. Each tour will combine history and gourmet spots featuring also pastry and chocolate. It will be the opportunity to visit the most beautiful pastry spots in Paris presenting their delights like jewels and haute-couture. You will meet with celebrity chefs, pastry and chocolate makers.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 (Monday) : Welcome to Paris / Afternoon 2-hour French tea cakes class1 / Welcome dinner

Morning arrival at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.
- Private transfer to your hotel, guesthouse or apartment by car. Check-in.
- Private transfer by car at 1:30pm to Le Grenier à Pain
- Welcome drink at Le Grenier à Pain with a “little something to eat”
- Two-hour baking class celebrating the French tea cakes (raspberry financiers, lemon madeleines, chocolate mignardises) starting at 3:00pm. Tight your apron, wash your hands, and you will learn the secrets of our experienced chef to succeed in these delicacies. You bring the fruits of your labor after your course.
- Transfer to Paris by car. Relaxing time.
- 7:30pm : Welcome dinner accompanied by wine at “Le Bouchon et l'Assiette” in the 17th district. This restaurant is owned by 3-star Bristol former sous-chef. The cuisine is excellent !

Day 2 (Tuesday) : Morning guided cultural and gourmet tour in Saint Germain des Prés district / Afternoon 3-hour pastry class2

After breakfast, join Corinne in Saint Germain des Prés for exploring this district through a walking itinerary combining culture and gourmet spots. Tour lasts about 2h30, starting at 10:00am.
- Lunch break nearby Marché Saint Germain.
- Transfer to Pont de Sevres by metro. Welcome coffee with some sweet bites on arriving at Le Grenier à Pain boulangerie-patisserie.
- 3-hour hands-on pastry class starting at 2:30pm, celebrating fruits tarts (raspberry plougastel-shortcrust, lemon tart, apple tart Tatin) or choux pastry (éclair, paris-brest, choux vanilla, chouquettes). You can enjoy a tasting of a pastry made after the class, and bring the other ones with you.
- Transfer to Sevres Rive-Gauche or to Pont de Sevres to take the metro or the train back to downtown Paris.

- Overnight at hotel, B&B or apartment.

Day 3 (Wednesday) : Morning free for relaxing, shopping or museum visit / Afternoon 3-hour macarons class3

Breakfast at your hotel, B&B or apartment.
- Morning free. You can relax, make some shopping, or visit a museum (Orsay, le Louvre, Carnavalet… open at 9, 9:30 or 10:00am). Lunch on your own.
- Take the metro and join Corinne at Pont de Sevres metro station at 2:15pm.
- Transfer to Le Grenier à Pain by car. Welcome coffee with some sweet bites at the boulangerie-patisserie on arrival.
- 3-hour hands-on macarons class starting at 2:30pm. You will learn how to prepare the fillings first (creams, chocolate ganache). While it cools, you start the delicate step of the meringues. You learn how to prepare the batters, how to shape the cookies, and how to bake it. The filling time of macarons arrives, and it’s a real it is a satisfaction to see how your macarons are successful and as they are delicious!  You can enjoy a tasting of a pastry made after the class, and bring the other ones with you.
- Transfer to Sevres Rive-Gauche or to Pont de Sevres to take the metro or the train back to downtown Paris.

- Overnight at hotel, B&B or apartment.

Day 4 (Thursday) : Morning guided cultural and gourmet tour of Les Halles and Le Marais districts /Afternoon 3-hour breads and croissants class4

Breakfast at your hotel, B&B or apartment
- Join Corinne at 10:00am in the district of Les Halles, nearby Châtelet.  The tour is by walking. It features history, traditions and gourmet spots. It will be the time to buy kitchen equipments and pastry ingredients at G. Detou, a little shop stocked with everything a cook or baker could want : fine chocolates, almond flour, powder food coloring, and more. You’ll be granted wholesale prices.
- Lunch break accompanied by drink nearby Les Halles.
- Transfer to Pont de Sevres by metro. Welcome coffee with some sweet bites on arriving to Le Grenier à Pain boulangerie-patisserie.
- 3-hour hands-on breads and croissants class starting at 2:30pm. You will learn how to prepare the bread doughs, how to shape the breads, and how to bake it. You will also make the croissants from scratch. The method is similar to puff pastry. You bring the fruits of your labor after the class.
- As it will be the last class at Le Grenier à Pain, we will say a reluctant adieu to Chef Patrick in sharing a bottle of Champagne wine.
- Transfer to Sevres Rive-Gauche or to Pont de Sevres to take the metro or the train back to downtown Paris.
- Transfer at 7:30pm from your hotel, B&B or apartment to the restaurant.
- Farewell food and wine pairing dinner at “Le Cobea” gourmet restaurant in Paris 14th
