Paris, city of arts and history, symbol of glamour and elegance, is the destination to choose for experiencing and enjoying exquisite desserts and pastries. Macarons, flavorful and colorful éclairs and religieuses choux pastry, Saint-Honoré, brioches, beautifully decorated fruits tarts are featured in our baking classes.
Our classes are designed for amateur bakers who aspire to improve their skills and techniques to create delectable French pastries and desserts. 4 hands-on private courses are included in this program, operated in our baking school, conveniently located in Paris 17th residential district, steps to Les Batignolles gardens. Classes are taught in English by our professional woman pastry chef graduated from Lenotre Culinary Institute.
The 5th class is a highlight of this program, featuring « Haute Couture » pastries created by celebrity and worldcup winner Chef Christophe Michalak. Through this demo private class, you will learn the chef’s tips and discover new textures, original tastes and flavors association, and especially the art of decoration and presentation. Participants will partake in the realization of these works of art. The chef is also informative about the wine and dessert harmony. Tasting follows the class
Handling a pastry bag with precision won’t have secrets for you after your baking training in France. You will also learn the proper use of baking tools and equipment. Best of all, you will learn easy recipes that you will be able to make afterwards in your kitchen in using the same kind of equipments
PASTRY, CHOCOLATE AND GOURMET WALKING TOURS
Aside to your baking classes, you will visit Paris by walking, quietly, enjoying this very special atmosphere of this city of arts, history, symbol of elegance and lifestyle. The gourmet walking tour is a glorious celebration of finest pastry, chocolate, food and wine. Along the itinerary, you will also visit Paris Saint-Germain-des-Prés historic quarter through its narrow cobble-stone streets, romantic squares, and gardens.
You will enter authentic bakeries displaying crusty baguettes, croissants and brioches, traditional pastry shops and top-ranked “haute couture” spots, as well as small cheese, chocolate, charcuterie, delicatessen and wine stores among the best in Paris (and in France). Of course you will meet the artisans, and you partake the food shopping with Corinne. Aside to tastings that will be offered in the shops, the tour ends by a generous food and wine lunch break in a nice place, next to the Senate and Luxembourg gardens.
CULTURAL WALKING TOUR
LUXURY GUESTHOUSE OR 4-STAR HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
PARIS DELIGHTS program includes a 4-night boutique-hotel or luxury guesthouse accommodations on a B&B basis. Hotels and privately-owned properties have been chosen by Corinne Preteur personally, located in safe, quiet and residential districts and steps to a metro station where you can go to the baking schools easily. Each one offers a beautiful Parisian decoration and luxury amenities.
Boutique-Hotel Vice-Versa is one of those. You enter through all-in-white lobby appearing heavenly, before discovering upstairs one of the 37 rooms portraying the seven deadly sins. "Wrath" rooms have a striking red and black color palette, graffiti-tagged paintings and skull and cross bone bathroom tiles. "Gluttony" rooms are done up in girly pinks and whites, with cupcake-shaped chairs and macaron-shaped pillows.Hotel is located in Paris 15th district, only 8 minutes by foot to Convention or Boucicaut metro stations which link directly Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Madeleine, and Opera.
Luxury elegant guesthouse accommodation is an option. Privately owned properties (houses, mansion or spacious apartments) are all located in safe, and quiet residential districts too, steps to metro stations and shopping spots. A guesthouse is a good option to have connections with Parisian people. Each room is furnished with queen or king size bed, and has its private en-suite bathroom and toilets. You will enjoy exquisite home-madecontinental breakfasts with freshly baked cakes, fresh squeezed fruits juice, home-made jam, etc...
