You will be hosted in a a beautifully restored 17th century property, located in the village of Mercuès, famous for its castle on the hill overlooking the Lot valley). The luxurious villa has six adorable rooms furnished with antiques and decorated with a very good taste. It’s a quite place, surrounded by vineyards, fields of sunflowers and meticulous gardens with a private pool. Here, you will not only relax but also share the secrets of Sabine, the chef and owner, in hands-on cooking lessons, featuring the Quercy’s cuisine with duck, lamb, truffles, saffron, cheese and/or organic fresh products from the market.
This program is designed for food & wine lovers, combining the exploration of cooking and wines Bordeaux Grand Crus among the First and Second Growths of Medoc and Saint-Emilion. With a top english-speaking executive chef from the Bordeaux Culinary Institute, you will learn to cook succulent Southwest cuisine, in the château’s kitchen. The cooking class is followed by a lunch. Afterwards, your guide will take you for a wine château’s visit including an instruction in wine tasting techniques, food & wine pairing, and other wine and gastronomy topics. One full-day is dedicated to Saint-Emilion.
